What might cause a lack of tooth enamel on a small child? As a child I recall being told that I had no tooth enamel and had to have many fillings in my baby teeth. They told my mother my adult teeth would most likely be normal, which they have been, more or less. The front teeth chip easily and are horribly temperature sensitive. I wonder if calcium deficiency could be a cause?

Lack of calcium doesn't cause tooth decay... calcium merely makes your teeth's enamel harder so that it can withstanding attacks cause by bacteria and chemical reactions.

In context, the eating of rice [raw or cooked] will not, in itself, cause tooth decay. Rice is primarily fiber. While it may contribute to bacterial decay with the lack of tooth hygiene [brushing your teeth] with good hygiene it will not cause any decay.

Thanks for the article, myself, I have a problem of teeth decay and I have been eating uncooked rice.
I'm just wondering can uncooked rice cause that problem or only sweet things.
I have already extracted 5 teeth and my doctor won't give me a straight answer.
Please Advise
